“Direct Cash Transfer” an official cash for vote scheme

UPA government has started playing like T20 match recently and launched an ambitious scheme called Direct Cash Transfer. This move shows how good Congress is at observing the nerves of Mango people ( Aam Adami) and it comes with lucrative schemes and programs to woo voters of India. UPA government is under tremendous pressure due to its own policies & issues and it has been struggling to get rid of Corruption charges, FDI, 2G spectrum, Inflation, subsidy on petroleum products etc., to take out government from difficult situation Congress has played two masterstrokes very recently which are:
  1.  Hanging Kasab just 5 days before 4th anniversary of Mumbai Terror Attacks
  2.   Launching Direct Cash Transfer for BPL families

Kasab, who became a ‘Sar dard’ for government for its inability to hang him over for four years and spending crores on him, To divert people and political parties of India from serious other issues govt. has executed Kasab in a secret operation which is an example to understand that how oldest political party of India tackle difficult situation and recover itself from that.
Let’s come to the main topic i.e. Direct Cash Transfer an ambitious scheme of Govt. to pass on the subsidy benefits, pension, scholarships and other aids from govt. to BPL families direct into their Bank account linked to Aadhar card. Motive behind this is to passing benefits directly to deserving people thus eliminating middleman which is an appreciable act, secondly Dr. Manmohan Singh wants to empower rural consumer and drive demand for goods and services to improve growth rate of Economy.

Above said motives are good in interest of Nation but there is a different view on this which we have to look at before making any conclusion. Out of 120Crores people we have only 21 Crores population with Aadhar card secondly most of the rural population doesn't have bank account in which money can be transferred. While Govt. is planning to implement the scheme throughout the nation in 15 months starting from January 2013 to April 2014 but there is no plan to provide Aadhar card and Bank account to the people below poverty line. It clearly shows this is not more than an election winner Program for UPA. Working with possibilities of successfully implementation of the scheme within time, one can easily figure out it is just to earn votes for cash for 2014 General Election. It is as good as a local Pradhan, Mayor or chairman or MLA distributing Rs.100-500 to voters to en-cash their votes.  In local elections Candidates and political parties can lodge their complaints to Election Commission of India but how about official Cash for Votes? Time will only tell the future of scheme and its beneficiary.

Is violence only the way to protest against anti-Islamic issues?

There is a lot happening about badly made movie “Innocence of Muslims”, huge protest is taking place in all over the world. We have also seen killing of US diplomats in Libya and much more happening in the world on this. Muslims are trying to act aggressively to show that they love their religion and can’t bear such acts of nonsense which provoke their sentiments. I have a different view on this and would like to ask Muslims from all over the world “is that the way to protest, our religion and beloved prophet has taught us?” by doing act of violence to mark our protest “can we claim Islam as a religion of peace?” we have to think and ask ourselves has beloved prophet ever asked for the act of violence?. In my view prophet has taken the help of Islamic principles to convince people who had different view about Islam, he had never taken any initiative to declare a war against anti-Islamic community, rulers or people instead he reacted to wars which were declare by anti-Islamic activists and it was unavoidable. So point here is that are we so weak that we have taken a path of violence? Can’t we mark our protest with peace? Have we forgot that our beloved prophet cared for a woman who used to throw garbage on him every day but he cared for that lady and went to see her when she was ill. This has changed thinking of the lady and she requested beloved prophet to join her in Islam. Our prophet has always believed in peace, it was our prophet who taught us that woman are as important as man for our society  and we should not indulge in violence by killing them when a girl baby takes birth. .
In an incident in Pakistan more than 19 people have been killed while protesting against the movie, they were not Americans, Indians or Europeans but they were citizen of Pakistan including journalists, police and general public. Have they done anything wrong? Were they associated with anti-Islamic movie? The answer is no then why killing of innocent people? We have to come out of this habit of violent protest against any issue, we have to change our image and this can’t be initiated until Islamic Dharmgurus think about it. Islamic Dharmgurus have to think seriously on this issue and act accordingly, as they have great reach, influence and faith of Muslims, they can certainly bring the change which is needed. We should learn from Gandhi ji “The Fakir” who has done all possible in interest of Muslims of India and Pakistan at the time of Partition. He has never taken path of violence but still he could mark his protest strongly and finally British had to leave India.
We should explore how people have got the courage to provoke our sentiments by making a film and cartoons against our prophet. If you dig little bit deeper you will find that it is nothing but our violent reaction to anti-Islamic activities which has given them motivation to repeat such activities again and again. When everybody in this world is progressing towards socio-economic development, Muslims are often busy in such activities which lead to destruction of valuable assets and human life. If you take a look at characteristics of countries who are protesting against this issue you will find that these are the countries that are undeveloped or developing countries like Syria, Libya, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Egypt, and Sudan. You will never find countries like Saudi Arabia and UAE who are wealthy enough but not indulging in such kind of protest. So the moral of the story is that if we will indulge in such activities then anti-Islamic fraternity will always try to provoke us and try to distract us from the path of development, the only way to avoid this will be to keep distant ourselves from violence and continue striving towards socio-economic development.
